"Could Letting Go of Control Bring More Peace into Your Life?"

For me this has been something I work on daily, and I have found more joy when I stop trying to have a plan for everything, every day or everyone. It has brought me more peace and in return happiness. It isn’t always easy, and I do like a plan, but it doesn’t need to always be my plan.

In life, we often cling to the notion that we can control everything. This need for control can become a barrier to our personal growth and hinder our ability to truly experience life to the fullest. The joy and pain, as there is no growth in comfort.

As I said I have struggled with this mindset for years, constantly trying to prepare for the unknown and or potential “abandonment”. I know for me it comes from my childhood and some chaos in my early years as well as my adoption. If I control what is happening, then I can prepare for what is to come. If I control the relationship I can leave before you leave me, so I don’t feel “abandoned” again but in reality, trying to control everything only limits our capacity for growth. If someone is going to “leave” I can’t control another person so I am only limited myself and the experiences I could have (even the pain).

Letting go of the need for control opens up a world of possibilities and allows us to embrace new experiences, challenges, and perspectives. It is through relinquishing this control that we can truly learn, grow, and evolve as individuals. Instead of constantly saying "You should" or trying to dictate others' journeys, we must learn to let go and allow people to navigate their own paths. (working on not saying “you should”)

There is no growth in comfort, and by releasing our need for control, we can break free from stagnant patterns and discover the beauty of unpredictability.

Embracing the unknown can lead to self-discovery, personal transformation, and a deeper understanding of the world around us.

So, let go of the reins, surrender to the flow of life, and watch as new opportunities and experiences unfold before you.
